Good Taxidermy

Mrs. Phillips and I, on the way home from dropping our little one off at camp, stopped in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to see my elementary school pal Barry "Manolo" Sanders and his significant other Chantelle, and while there we went to the "Blind Pig" Brew Pub, wherein hangs this magnificent Gnu head.

Also, the Blind Pig makes some lovely beers.

What, I wonder, is the next state of being, after "hog wild?" I query thee, for thou art there!

  2. A swino, of course.

  4. Damn it. That was the wrong login. What I said was:

The Blind Pig in downtown Champaign was a popular live music venue in the '90s. I did not know a brewpub had reopened under that name. I'll try and visit next time I go down there. If I have the energy.

  5. Gerard, there are two of them, just a couple of blocks apart, which is the kind of town Champaign/Urbana seems to be!

  6. My wife, Sophia and I take that route to my in-laws' cottage on Lake Michigan, which is three hundred feet from the spot where the Indiana-Michigan border touches Lake Michigan. I-57 North to I-94 east, on up to Michigan Land...

Dude, have you seen the omnipresent Internet video footage of lions TRYING to eat a water buffalo? Those hungry lionesses can't even bite through the skin...they are TOUGH.
