Beauty and the Beasts

Left to right: uber-agent Stacia Decker, old-lady-frightening writer Kieran Shea, mega-agent David Hale Smith, up-and-coming sicko novelist John Rector, and King of Comics Duane Swierczinski, from DHS's Bouchercon party at Indianapolis's Rathskeller, a building designed by Kurt Vonnegut's grandfather. More pictures to come soon, along with some pencil pages from Roger Petersen for this comic we're soon going to have to come up with a title for.

  1. Mmmm, oh heaping mounds of sauer kraut and sausage. More schnitzel, Mein Herr! Mach schnell!

  2. It was a sausage-fest, literally and figuratively ... Great time, and a great bunch of people.

  3. Every time you kiss an agent's ass a demon gets his horns.

    It's true.

  4. As far as I'm concerned you can never kiss enough agents' asses. They are our intermediaries to the Lord, and easily angered.

  6. You've got two great books in the can waiting to be published. Until one of these Uber-Geniuses gets the job done I say they can sit and stew in their anger if they get offended. They should be your servants, not the other way around. A wise writer used to say "Agents are like underwear. They should be changed frequently." Not enough writers heed that advice.

The world need more Scott Phillips books!

(And it's got more than enough agents and middlemen.)
